- Set-Up Fee
To activate your MERCABL shop, you will have to pay a one-time set-up fee. You will be able to pay for this fee after you finish onboarding with Stripe.
The one-time set-up fee is non-refundable once paid. We reserve the right to adjust or change the set-up fee at our discretion.
In certain circumstances or promotional periods, the set-up fee may be waived at our sole discretion.
Where applicable, MERCABL may charge local taxes (e.g. Sales Taxes or VAT/GST) to this fee.
- Listing Fees
A listing fee is charged only when you publish a new listing or renew an existing listing on MERCABL.
There is no fee for editing an existing listing.
The listing fee is charged regardless of whether the item sells or not.
The listing fee is 1.20 USD (on the standard plan) or 0.05 USD (on the plus plan) and is valid for 1 year (on the standard plan) or for 1 month (on the plus plan). You pay only once per period regardless of how many items you sell. After this period, the listing expires, and can be published again, either automatically or manually.
Listing fees are added to your user bill and are payable at the end of the billing cycle, rather than being deducted at the time of listing. Where applicable, MERCABL may charge local taxes (e.g. Sales Taxes or VAT/GST) to this fee.
Listing Auto-renew
MERCABL's automatic renewals feature will automatically renew your listings at the end of the one-year listing period, unless you choose to not use automatic renewals for a particular listing or for your shop. You will be charged the listing fee of 1.20 USD for each of these listings until you cancel automatic renewals. You can see automatic listing status in your Listings Manager, and may cancel automatic renewals at any time by selecting “Manual” instead of “Automatic” in the “Renewal Options” in the Listings Manager.
- Subscription Fees
The fee for an MERCABL Plus subscription is 10 USD per month. MERCABL Plus subscription fees are added to your user bill and are payable at the end of the billing cycle. Where applicable, MERCABL may charge local taxes (e.g. Sales Taxes or VAT/GST) on your monthly subscription fee.
You will be billed on the same day every month. For example, if you sign up on 5th March, your subscriptions fees will be added on 5th April, 5th May, and so on. When you sign up at the end of the month, your subscription fees will be charged to your payment account on the last day of the month. For example, if you sign up on 31st May, your subscription fees will be added on 30th June because that is the last day of the month.
If you don't wish to be on the Plus plan anymore, you can downgrade to the Standard plan. The downgrade isn't imediate, it will be schedule for the the end of the billing period.
You will have access to your MERCABL Plus subscription until the end of that subscription cycle, and your final day of access will be identified in the Your Subscription dashboard. During that time you may use your plan as usual, and can cancel the downgrade at any time.
Keep in mind, by the end of the biiling period, you will still be required to pay for the fees of the current period. Also, remeber to turn off all the listings you don't wish to renew once your plan shifts to the Standard plan.
While you are subscribed to MERCABL Plus, you are provided with the ability to publish up to 200 listings, which are valid for 1 month from the date you publish them. Each aditional listing you publish while on the Plus plan will add 0.05 USD to your bill, and will also be valid for 1 month from the date you publish them.
You must use the 200 listing publications during the subscription cycle, otherwise they expire. Credits will not roll over month to month. They will be reset and replenished at the beginning of each subscription cycle.
Sale-independent fees
- Stripe Payment Processing Fees
MERCABL shops may use Stripe Connect to accept payments through MERCABL.
Payment processing fees are charged for each transaction made through Stripe and is assessed on the total amount of the sale, including tax. Payment processing fees are imediatelly deducted from the sale amount.
Payment processing fees vary based on the location of Stripe account and payment method used by the buyer for purchase. You can see Stripe fees here.
If you list your items in a currency other than your payment account currency (settlement currency), see the Currency Conversion section below for more details on the transaction fee.
- Marketplace commission fee
When you make a sale through MERCABL.com, you will be charged a marketplace commission fee of 20% of the final price of each of the purchased listings plus the amount you charge for delivery. This fee is refunded to you in case you issue a refund to the buyer.
- Back office fee
When you make a sale through MERCABL.com, you will be charged a back office fee of 1% on the total amount of the sale, including tax. This fee allows us to issue invoices and manage taxes on your behalf. This fee is not refunded to you in case you issue a refund to the buyer.
- Affiliate commission fee
When you make a sale through MERCABL.com, you will be charged an affiliate commission fee of a percentage determined by you on the final price, excluding tax, of each of the purchased listings that had an active affiliate program by the time the item was added to the buyer's cart.
Affiliate cookies lasts for 120 days, but once the item is on the cart (and the affiliate program was still active), there is not way for a shop to not comply with the affiliate payment, unless the item get removed from the cart and re-added.
Currency Conversion
All the sales-independent fees are charged in USD.
All the sales-dependent fees are charged in your Stripe account settlement currency. On the backstage, what varies is the way they are calculated.
- The marketplace commission fee, the adminstrative fee, the affiliate commission fee, and taxes are calculated in the currency of the sale and charged in your Stripe account settlement currency, using the market rate at the time the fee is reflected in your payment account.
- Stripe processing fee is calculated and charged in your Stripe account settlement currency.
If you list your items in a currency other than that of your payment account, the amount charged will be converted to your Stripe account currency at the market rate and reflected in your payment account.
To avoid incurring foreign exchange charges on your sales, MERCABL recommends you list your items in the same currency as your Stripe account currency. Buyers see the items in the currency of their choosing. As an MERCABL Payments user, if you decide to list in a currency other than that of your payment account, you will be charged a 2.0% currency conversion fee on the sale amount to send funds to your payment account. Learn more about currency conversion here. Currency conversion is handled automatically by Stripe and further described in our Payments Policy.
If you made the sale using the same currency of your current Stripe account currency, you won't face any currency conversion loss in case of refunds and disputes.
2. Off-Platform Transactions
Off-platform transactions are not protected by MERCABL's secure payment platform or policies, and offers to buy or sell outside MERCABL are a potential fraud risk for buyers and sellers. Therefore, any action to move a transaction off the MERCABL platform is strictly prohibited by MERCABL. This includes, for example, encouraging buyers to purchase an item in your MERCABL shop through another venue or directing buyers to another venue via a QR code. A transaction initiated on MERCABL may not be completed off of MERCABL. The price stated in each listing description must be an accurate representation of the sale. Sellers may not alter the item's price after a sale for the purpose of avoiding MERCABL transaction fees, misrepresent the item's location, or use another user's account without permission.
3. Paying your MERCABL Fees
By opening a MERCABL shop, you agree to the following terms:
- With the exception of the set-up fee, which must be paid by you at any time after completing Stripe onboarding to enable further actions on the platform, all pre-sales fees will be added to your user bill. This bill will be automatically charged to the credit card you have on file at the end of each billing cycle.
- MERCABL may suspend your shop's selling privileges, such as the ability to publish or re-publish listings, if you have any outstanding bills.
- All post-sales fees, such as Stripe processing fees, marketplace commission fees, administrative fees, and affiliate commission fees, will be automatically deducted from your Stripe account balance immediately after a successful transaction.
Please note: Stripe processing fees and administrative fees are non-refundable, even in cases of refunds or chargebacks.
- If your shop's Stripe account balance becomes negative, Stripe will attempt to recover the negative balance from future payments. If this is insufficient, Stripe may debit the linked bank account to cover the shortfall. In severe cases, Stripe may pursue legal action to recover the funds.
- If you don't honor the refunds you initiate or that MYMARKEPLACE initiate on your behalf due to a zeroed or negative balance on your Stripe account, you may be suspended from the platform.
- In the event of a negative balance, your saved payment method may be charged the outstanding amount to restore your account to good standing.
- You may be asked to manually add funds to your shop's Stripe account balance at any time to prevent a negative balance or to bring the balance back to zero.
Auto-billing Agreement
By opening a MERCABL shop, you agree to the following auto-billing terms:
- You authorize MERCABL to store your payment card information and to charge the card on file on your billing cycle end date.
- When your card is charged, MERCABL will send you an email informing the amount debited. You can also review this information in your MERCABL account.
- If your card account on file is closed, the card number changes, or a charge is declined by your card issuer, you must update your payment information in your MERCABL account. If a charge is refused, your shop's selling privileges may be suspended, and you are still required to pay your outstanding balance by other means. This authorization applies to any successor or replacement card provided by you or your card issuer.
- You cannot opt out of keeping a card on file. To use MERCABL's features, you must be enrolled in a subscription plan with an active payment method.
- Suspended or terminated members remain obligated to pay MERCABL for all unpaid fees.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that all of your listings are properly categorised, and you agree to indemnify MERCABL for any losses it incurs in connection with any miscategorisation of your listings by you.
Please remember that MERCABL's fees do not include any withholding taxes that might apply in your home country.
Taxes on Seller Services
Where applicable, Tax will be applied to all sales-independent fees, such as set-up fee, listing fees, MERCABL Plus subscription fee.

For that reason, you can list your items on MERCABL exclusive of VAT.
MERCABL will collect the Tax amount from the buyer during checkout and the tax amount will be automatically deducted from the successfull trasanction as part of a fee group is called "application fee". You will not have to take any further action.
In case of refunds and disputes the Tax withhold will be refunded to you.
